We’re days away from the wedding of the year (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s FYI) so we thought we’d take a look back on some of our favourite celeb wedding dresses from over the years. We doubt Meghan will have as much freedom with her gown as these A Lister’s – can’t imagine her walking down the aisle at Windsor in a pink tinted dress á la Gwen Stefani, but we’re beyond excited to see it!
Kate Moss in John Galliano
The queen of boho rocker chic didn’t disappoint when it came to her wedding dress for her nuptials to The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince! While their marriage didn’t last, Kate’s gown will definitely make her go down in history as one of the best dressed brides.
Amal Clooney in Oscar de la Renta
It’s not just George Clooney whose fallen for Amal, she’s got the fashion world at her feet! In the last couple of months, she’s appeared on the cover of American Vogue and co-chaired the latest MET Gala alongside Rihanna, Donatella Versace and Anna Wintour. So it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that she wore one of the dreamiest wedding dresses to become Mrs.Clooney.
Solange in Humberto Leon for Kenzo
We’ll risk the wrath of the Beyhive to admit that we reckon Solange’s wedding dress was nicer than Beyoncé’s. She looked like a real life superhero in her Humberto Leon designed caped gown, accessorised with gold Wonder Woman-esque cuffs and a statement red lip.
Olivia Palermo in Carolina Herrera
Olivia is probably the best dressed former reality TV star ever so we knew we’d end up loving whatever she wore to marry male model, Johannes Huebl! Her Carolina Herrera two-piece perfectly captured her classic-with-a-twist sense of style and she wore our dream Manolo Blahnik heels (those blue ones Carrie wore in the first Sex and the City film).
Kim Kardashian in Givenchy Haute Couture
She’s one of pop cultures most controversial figures but there’s no denying that Kim K’s custom made gown for her nuptials to Kanye West was anything short of stunning! Thanks to the modest neckline and lace sleeves, it seems royal brides were a source of inspiration for former Givenchy Creative Director, Riccardo Tisci.
